Vehicle wraps – how much does it cost?

The cost of a vehicle wrap at Spectrum Signs varies depending on several factors, including the amount of material required (based on the size of your vehicle), the time required to wrap the vehicle, and the vinyl stock you decide to use. Also, different colours and finishes, such as chromes, pearls and carbon fibre, are a variable when it comes to the cost. If you’re looking to have custom graphics created and printed for your vehicle – as opposed to having just one colour, this will also incur a graphic design charge.

As with any industry, there will always be someone willing to do it cheaper and vehicle wrapping is no exception! A number of factors contribute to the cost of a vehicle wrap – factors that should not be compromised on to ensure the highest quality finish for your vehicle.  These include the quality of the vinyl used – Spectrum Signs stand by Avery, 3M and Hexis wrapping films, the experience of your signwriter and installer and the preliminary preparation of the vehicle.

Spectrum Signs are experienced installers of vehicle wraps. Any experienced installer will tell you that the preparation of your vehicle is every bit as important as the quality of materials used – and we are no different. Before any vinyl is applied, thorough cleaning is required, and the trim, badges and door handles are removed – anything that will interfere with the vinyl application.

The vinyl is then applied to your vehicle section by section, by our experienced wrappers.

How do I organise a sign?

Give Spectrum Signs a call, or send us an email outlining the requirements of your new project or drop by our sign shop. We have more than 30 years of experience in all forms of signwriting and we would love to hear your new ideas! We can also come to you, we’ll measure the site and discuss with you your objectives so that we can determine the best signage options for your business. If you do not already have a designer or a means to design the signage yourself, Spectrum Signs offer an experienced inhouse design. From here we will prepare and provide you with a quote and as soon as you approve the quote, we will schedule your job. Pending the approval of any design work required, we will then start the process of manufacturing the necessary components and a time convenient to you will be scheduled for installation.

Do I need to measure where my sign goes?

The short answer is no - Spectrum Signs will come to you and do this for you. Our experience means that we are well aware of, and can avoid, any issues that may arise from sign sizing and placement, to ensure the perfect fit of your new signage.

Does artwork have to be supplied or can Spectrum Signs design it for me?

If you are able to supply your own artwork that’s great. We require files that contain vector artwork (pdf, eps, Corel Draw). If not, we offer an inhouse design service at an additional cost – our experienced designer will be happy to work with you to come up with an artwork design for your project.

If you choose to use Spectrum Signs’ design service, you will receive proofs of the artwork to ensure you are happy with the final design. Once the proofs are approved by you, your job will then proceed to the manufacturing stage.

Spectrum Signs uses high quality materials, designed to withstand Australian conditions. The life expectancy will be dependent on exposure to the elements, but generally 5-7 years with moderate exposure is a good measure.

How long will my signage last?

For signage such as window decals, smaller vehicle decals or A Frames, the turnaround time is faster (roughly within a week). Larger signs such as shop fascia's, light boxes or fabricated signs, require an element of manufacture and, as such, may take several weeks. Please note that all signs are hand-made locally and manufactured specifically for your business. Additionally, with any job, the faster we can have final approval on your artwork, the quicker we can start to manufacture and install your new signage.

How quickly can my signs be made?

This will vary depending on the size of your vehicle, work scheduling, specifications and the vinyl you’ve chosen to go with (specialised stocks will have to be ordered and may take longer to arrive). Spectrum Signs will endeavour to apply a full colour change wrap to your vehicle in roughly 1 week. However, other less involved wrapping such as fleet vehicle signage can be installed within one day.

How long do car wraps take vs fleet vehicles?

The cost of signage can vary greatly depending on the job size and specifications. Spectrum Signs endeavour to create signage to suit any budget but please keep in mind that all signs are unique, customised and made by hand locally by our experienced signwriters. Where cost is concerned, consider your new signage as an investment into your business -it is how your customers identify and remember you, and it’s on display 365 days a year!
